I should know that Christmas comes the same time every year, but it always take me by surprise. I end up running around here and there trying to get everything done. My problem is I am always looking for the perfect present for everyone when all they really want is a gift card to Best Buy.
I had several gifts to make for people that I had to get done before last night since my oldest was coming home from college to take back my craft room. I wanted to make a fancy tag for some lucky person for their present this year. I have been following Tim Holz as he made his 12 Tags of Christmas. They are over the top fabulous. Here is my simple one.
I used a couple of Tim's techniques with this tag. I used Distress Ink (Fire Brick Red) and spritz some Glimmer Mist on the ink and put the tag over it. Oh, but first I stamped and embossed Merry Christmas with clear embossing. The leaves are from a Martha Stewart punch that everyone was wild about a few years ago, but I still love and use a lot. I inked the frame in a blue ink from Color Box and then put Glossy Accents all over the frame and then used Inkadoo's pewter glitter sprinkled on top. I think the blue with the pewter glitter gives it an old fashioned look. (Which I am totally into now.)
Since I was suppose to be cleaning up my craft/son's room I just found what I had laying around for this tag so the frame isn't the perfect shape, but I like it.
Recently I have found a new thrift store in my area and have been buying old suit cases for cheap. I plan on making some more card box suit cases soon. (After the holidays of course.)
One last look at my tag and off I go to a million different places today. If you want to see all of Tim's tags Here is the link.
