All A Flutter Challenge

I have found a great blog called Getting Cricky with K Andrew. She has lots of challenges and lots of great video tutorials. Her latest challenge is doing something that has to do with butterflies. She has a video on how to make glitter coated wire flourishes. I had already made this card and when I saw how to make the glitter wire I was all over that!

 I used a little heavier wire than what the video said to use. I just used what I had and I used a clear tacky glue. I wouldn't recommend that. It does need to be a quick drying glue.

They turned out great and I will defintly be doing this technique again. I love glitter but hate using it. It does get every where. My youngest son said that glitter is the herpes of the craft world.  Once you get it you can never get rid of it. Truer word never spoken about glitter.

Cosmo Cricket and the Cricut.......Card

Today was the day I needed to make a card  for my 3rd week of sending out a card every week.  I was looking at the Everyday Cricut website for some ideas for cards using my Cricut and came across a really cute one HERE. On my Black Friday shop-a-thon I purchased the Preserve cartridge at all places a Home Improvement store called Menards. They had Cricut cartridges there for $20.00. Needless to say I went crazy! What attracted me to the card was the paper. It was from Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety 

( FYI-If you click on the names it will take you to the links)  I love Cosmos Cricket paper but it is really hard to find in the stores around STL so with my hot little 40% off coupons I purchased this paper pack!

So to the card............................... These are the elements that you need. If you want specific direction I would want you go to Here (Card Directions) since Melanie is the one who originally designed it. I did make a cut file for it though. The file cuts 6 of the strawberry elements. The other paper I cut with my papercutter.

Here is my version of the card. I made the strawberry 4 1/5 inches instead of 3 1/5 like Melanie did. (Only because I thought it said 4 1/2 inches when I read the direction. Oops)

The saying I printed out on the computer it says if you can't read it "Bless You Berry Much"

Week 2

I have officially lost my craft room for a while so I hope I can fulfill my goal of making and sending 52 cards this year.

This is birthday month on our family my mother-in-law is a new year baby, my brother who shares his birthday with Elvis and then my son has a birthday. Since he is away at college I needed to send him a  card. He needs to feel special on his birthday so far from home.

This is the great thing about making some cards when you are a scrapbooker you can use up all of those stickers you have accumulated over the years. These are Mrs. Grossman stickers that I have had for years and they are great for this colorful  card. It is a little pinkesh for a guy but he can handle it.

I have always love Mrs. Grossman Sticker they are so colorful and whimsical they are great for making cards. I read an article about her company once and she lets her employees take their dogs to work. Wouldn't that be great. My husband use to work for a company that make their printing presses I was hoping he would have to go and do some sort of service call on them but alas it never happened.
