Homemade Doggie Treats

I wanted to do something special for my neighbors this year for Christmas and I thought that the traditional Christmas Cookies were so over done. If you are like me by the time Christmas is over I have had way too many cookies and sweets. This year I made Homemade Doggie Treats for my neighbors we all have dogs and they are all very, very good. They were easy to make and the neighbors loved them and I am sure Jack-Jack, Milo and Tucker loved them too. There are hundreds of recipes on the web all you need to do is google homemade doggie treats. Just be careful that you don't use the recipes that have raisins or grapes in them they are not good for dogs

The basic ingredients are white flour, whole wheat flour , and corn meal. You roll them our just like cookies and I used a bone shaped cookie cutter.

The secret to making the bones hard are to let them sit in the oven overnight.

Here are all the dog treats ready to be packaged. One recipe made about 100 treats.

I made a little card with my Cricut using the Mickey and Friends Cartridge. I welded 2 dog bones together to make the card and glued a ribbon on the front and package them in decorative paper Christmas bags. If you really want the recipe let me know and I can post it.

Our Genuine boy

This is the the last of the 12x12 picture frames I made for Christmas presents. This one is for my other great-nephew Connor. I had purchased a rub on that had the title on it with lots of little boy sayings they were all just perfect for him. He has such a big personality I thought the big C fit him perfectly. This is my favorite out of all the frames that I made.

This is a close up of the corner and this is a better representation of the color of the paper that was used. The C was made with the Lyrical Letter Cartridge

More Handmade Christmas

This is another picture frame that I made for my great nephew James for Christmas. Today is his 2nd birthday and he was born near North Pole, Alaska. He lives a lot closer now which is wonderful that we will be able to see him grow up. I used the pattern that RUELYSI has on her blog. She has made so many great animals for the DS and I knew I wanted to use her penguin: it is so cute. Here is the link to her blog ruelysicreativecards if you down load a file please be kind and leave her a thank you it is the least you can do for all her beautiful and hard work

This is the close up of Ruelysi adorable penguin, and so easy to make. Thanks Ruelysi!

Handmade Christmas Gifts

OUR GRANDKIDS
I have never had an orignal  idea. I saw a picture frame like this one at Archivers, but always having my mothers mantra in the back of my mind ("There is always a cheaper way"). I found some 12x12 frames at Michael's they were $4.99 on sale and I had a 20% off coupon but I splurged on the paper, I felt this paper went so well with my sister-in-laws living room. The picture openings are  4x4. I made the pattern with my Cricut Design Studio. I made 4 frames in total and will share some more over the next few days.

This is a close-up of the the decorative 4x4 square. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law have 2 grandson's with another on the way this spring. They are so proud of them. I know they will enjoy placing their pictures in this frame for all to see.

It's Time to Make Some Christmas Gifts

I was at the FedEx store the other day and came across their express envelopes and it is the perfect size and thickness to use to make those famous word books. I had a idea to make one for my niece for Christmas. She will be graduating from High School this year has been a cheerleader for her school for all 4 years of school. I went to the local scrapbook store where they live and found paper that was from her High School so I could decorate it in her school colors Red and Black.
I thought is turned out great although it took me much long to make than I intended. I did need to make doubles of the FedEx chipboard it wasn't just thick enough,(Hey it was free) but I did use the deep cut blade on my Cricut set on #3 and High pressure and it cut just fine. I used the Mickey and Friends Cartridge. I really like to use this Cartridge for word books the chunky letter seem to work the best.
I just love tying ribbon in unusual places
I added a little flower on a paperclip.
You can never have too much ribbon. Okay, well I have to clean up and move on to my other projects. I will post them when I am finished which needs to be soon. Christmas seems to becoming a little too fast for me.If you have a LAUREN in your life and want to have the cut file just let me know I would be happy to share it.
