A Unique Wedding Card Holder

I have been busy, busy, busy, getting ready for Thanksgiving and I needed to get a lot of stuff done before the college student came home, since I use his room for my craft room. Let me show you what I have been up to.

I was asked to make a wedding card holder for a friend of mine's daughter who is getting married New Years Eve. I thought about making a typical 3-tiered decorated box and had everything prepared when I came across on the WWW an old suitcase that someone had painted just married on it and used as a card holder. Well I was all over that. I went to my local Antique Mall and the owner, and myself hunted for an old suitcase. I found the perfect one and not too pricey either. It was a black suitcase to begin with but with years of abuse it need a little freshening up so I painted it black with just some acrylic paint leaving the leather corners.
I found some tags from 7 Gypsies and K & Company. They had the perfect little travel things to Mod Podge on the suitcase. I cut the letters out with my Cricut and some vinyl and used the Lyrical Letter for the lettering.

I made a cute little flower out ribbon that the bride is using in her wedding.and attached that with Mod Podge also.
I put the bride and grooms name on the other side using the same font from Lyrical Letter. I also Mod Podged the whole suitcase just to make sure nothing would fall off.  The tulle was very sparkly when I saw it at Hobby Lobby I thought it would be perfect but opened it up the glitter was just glued on and as I unwrapped the tulle and POOF of glitter gently covered me and the entire room. Little did I know that this tulle was a Glitter Bomb.
The Monogram is from Wall Decor and More. Use I did use more glitter, but I sealed it with Mod Podge so it wouldn't rub off. This mediallon matches the ones I made that say GIFTS for the gift table. I wanted to tie that in.
So here is the bride she looks happy doesn't she. It was a pleasure and thrill to make this for her and her groom to be. It turned out fabulous and I am on the hunt for another piece of luggage to make another one, because they are adorable. I think they need their picture taken with the piece of luggage on their way to their honeymoon, don't you? Wishing you a very happy life together Sam and Justen.
