Another Wild Card Project continued.....

So here is the surprise that is inside the book. I made an envelope to put some scriptures in for her to pull out for comfort or inspiration.

I placed five cards in to start with. They were printed on vellum and then put on scraps of the matching paper.

Here are all five of the cards I made.
I thought that I could send her a new scripture every now and then for her to place in the envelope

My prayer is that she can find peace in rest in the arms of Jesus

Another Wild Card Project

I was asked to make an altered composition book for a lady at church. This woman is an inspiration and a soul mate to me. She is a retired dental hygienist (which I hope to be one day) with terminal cancer. She always has a smile and a hung for me she struggles daily with her cancer but relies on God to makes it through the day. It was an honor to make this book for her.

I used the Wild Card cartridge again. I saved the file because the size fit perfectly on the book. I am willing to freely share it so you.

I also made a bookmark with a jumbo paperclip. I used my Memory Maker Tag Maker which I hadn't used in quite a while.

The best thing about the book was the flower that I made which I got the file from HimmyKitty's CriCuts. It looks like it is complicated to make but it is really really easy. Thanks HimmyKitty. Here is the link to her website.

If you download the file be sure to thank her it is quite a complicated and time consuming file to make and freely share with everyone.
Make sure you come back tomorrow. I will show you the surprise I made for the inside of the book.

Wild Card Project

I have had a lot on my to do list and on Thursday my neighbors who have kids at college got together to make college survivor boxes to send to our college students. I made some Thinking of You cards to put in the boxes. Since I am new to the Wild Card Cartridge there is a big learning curve. I want to thank MamaC on the cricut message board. She did hours of work to get the right sizes for the 12x12 size paper. If you want the document hop on over to the cricut message board here is the link.

So here is the result of my card project.

I needed 12 cards I was trying to use up the black and white paper from the wedding guest book I did but I didn't have enough to do all 12 so I used my favorite pack of paper right now the Teen Angst that was used for my youngest son's school project.
Here are the 2 cards close up
The card is the thinking bubble and the envelope is behind the card We had alot of fun getting together and talking about college experiences and catching up over the summer. All the ladies really put their thinking caps on and brought some really great things to put in the boxes. We used the small USPS Express Mail boxes. The boxes are free and it cost around $10 to mail as long as it is under 70 pounds. Here is a list of some of the things we enclosed
Toothbrush and Toothpaste (that was mine contribution)
Chip Clip
Kleenex
Deck of Cards
Candy/little bags of chip/ granola bars
Post it notes
Purex washer and dryer sheets combined (great thing for the college student)
The boxes were packed to the brim. I didn't mail mine, my son's girlfriend was going to see him this weekend so I sent it with her!
Don't miss my next post I had another project that I finished yesterday that turned out great

Wedding Guest Book

With the event of scrapbooking the wedding guest book has evolved. Gone are the days of a simple white little book that people sign their names on with a feathered pen. I first saw this type of guest book at my husband's nephews wedding. It was done by the photographer and was beautiful. The only problem was the groom shook the silver pen to be used with out the cap on and he got it all over his tux.
I have a friend getting married in October and suggested this type of guestbook. I asked for 10 pictures. (I really could of used more) and this is the results. I am very pleased with it and hope they are too.

The picture on the first page is actually the wedding invitation (It was a postcard how cute)

I used DCVW paper La Creme Stack I tried to keep it simple because remember people are going to writing their sentiments on the pages
This is a Creative Memories Album and the pages are not a true 12x12 but it worked to my advantage with my baby bug because when making this topper it was the perfect length for this album. This is a close up the the LOVE: the paper in this stack was flocked which make the love very cute indeed.

Last page. I used several cricut cartridges. Storybook for the flourishes and Opposite Attracts for the lettering. Maybe this will give you a little inspiration. This is my wedding present to them.

Wedding Guest Book

A friend of mine is getting married and I asked if I could make her guest book for her (among some other crafty things) so here is the outside of the book. It is a Creative Memories Album. I used this because my mom (the garage sale queen) found this at a garage sale for $5. Need I say anymore.

Monogram etiquette states that the woman's name go first but the "B" just looked better in the front. I used vinyl wall pops and the Storybook and Calligraphy cricut cartridges.
Now on to the inside..................
